Showing Emotions With Our Bodies

Task Description: This is our taske we got to do with Mr Hughes. He took us on a train ride but not a normal train ride. It was an emotional train ride. We had to line up from shortest to tallest and follow eachother in a line. In the line the first person had to act out a feeling with their bodies and everyone had to follow along behind them acting out the same emotion. Mr Hughes taught us that our bodies and body language can show our emotions.

Capturing A Story In Photos

These are some pictures from a lesson we had with Miss Parrant. In the lesson we learnt about freeze frames.

A freeze frame is a picture that shows a story and emotions through whats going on in the pictures.

Miss Parrant read us the book of Goldilocks and The Three Bears.

In our pictures we are showing us as Goldilocks pretending to eat porridge, a photo of us panicking just like Goldilocks did when she got caught in the story and the last one was of all of us pointing at Mia pretending that shes Goldilocks running away.

Let me know what you think about our freeze frames.

Music and Emotions

This term we are learning about emotions and performing arts. We had rotations in team 4 no Monday and we got to go to different classes with different teachers to learn different things about emotions. In Miss Tuia’s class we learnt a bit about how music and Emotions work together. Take a look at my presentation to see what emotions and music feel , look and sound like to me,

A Funny First Day of Term 2

Task Description: This week we had to write a recount story about our Term 2 Immersion Assembly at school. We have Immersion assemblies every first day of the new term . Take a look below at my piece of writing to find out more about what happened.

Hi my name is Neihana. On the first day of Term 2  I saw the Immersion Assembly at Pt England school.

Our inquiry topic this term is called transformers. It’s all about showing emotion through drama and acting.

Team 1 showed a movie and they were wanting to get people to guess the emotion.

Team 2 wanted to focus on traditional stories of the Pacific They showed a movie called “How kiwi saved the forest”

Team 3 showed different emotions through play acting on stage. It was so funny because BobbyJon ate a real chocolate cake on stage in front of everyone.

Team 4 did a skit and played charades to try and guess what emotion they were acting out. Mr Hughes got the whole school to play all together.

Team 5 did a play about the two ugly step sisters played by Whaea Saf and Mrs Langitupu, Cinderella played by Mr Moran, the Prince which was played by Mrs Ilaoa and the narrator played by Mr Wisemen. It was really funny because their acting was so good.

My favourite act was team 3’s musical. I really enjoyed it because BobbyJon made it super funny and he did a big burp.

What Is It Made Of?

Task Description: This week I had to read a couple of books with follow up tasks. The book ‘What Is It Made Of’ by Julia Hayden was my favourite because I got to learn what different things are made out of. A question that I still don’t know the answer to yet, but am looking forward to finding out is, ‘How is an entire slide only made of plastic?’.

Check out my presentation about the book ‘What Is It Made Of?’ .
